Ampler Unveils Nova Series: The First USB-C Chargeable E-Bikes

Estonia-based e-bike manufacturer Ampler has just launched its latest innovation ā the Nova and Nova Pro ā marking a significant milestone in electric bike design. These sleek, lightweight bikes are not only built for urban practicality but also feature USB-C charging, a first in the commercial e-bike world.
Designed and assembled at Amplerās facility in Tallinn using renewable energy, the Nova series blends minimalist aesthetics with future-proof functionality, supporting Europeās push for sustainability, standardized tech, and reduced e-waste.
Until now, e-bikes have largely relied on proprietary chargers that are bulky, inconvenient, and hard to replace. The Nova and Nova Pro eliminate that problem, allowing riders to charge directly via USB-C ā the same universal port now adopted across smartphones, laptops, and other gadgets......ā¦continue reading

OpenAIās Image Generator Now Free for All Users

OpenAI has officially opened the gates to its powerful image-generation tool, making it available to free users for the first time. The tool, integrated into ChatGPT and powered by the advanced GPT-4o model, had previously been exclusive to paid subscribers.
While the tool is now accessible to everyone, free users are limited to generating three images per day. Paid usersāthose subscribed to ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) or Pro ($200/year)āenjoy significantly higher usage limits and early access to experimental features.
The launch has sparked massive interest, with Altman joking that OpenAIās servers are āmeltingā under the volume of usage.....ā¦continue reading

TikTok Bids Farewell To TikTok Notes, Shutting Down Its Instagram Competitor

āTikTok is discontinuing its text-based content feature, TikTok Notes, on May 8. Introduced to diversify the platform beyond its video-centric origins, TikTok Notes allowed users to share brief, text-based posts, akin to Instagram's Notes feature. Despite its potential to enhance user engagement through varied content formats, the feature did not gain significant traction. Users are encouraged to download and save their TikTok Notes data before the shutdown date. This move reflects TikTok's ongoing efforts to adapt to the evolving demands of digital content creation and user preferences......ā¦continue reading

Microsoft Retires the Blue Screen of Death ā Say Hello to a New Look for System Crashes

For decades, the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) has been a universally dreaded signal for Windows users ā a stark blue backdrop announcing a fatal system error, complete with a sad face, technical jargon, and more recently, a QR code. But now, Microsoft is giving the BSOD a long-overdue redesign, and it might just make crashing feelā¦ slightly less tragic.
In preview builds of Windows 11 version 24H2, Microsoft is ditching the iconic blue for a completely black screen. (Insiders on test builds will still see a green version ā a longstanding distinction Microsoft uses for preview environments.)
But this isnāt just a color swap. The rebooted screen is part of Microsoftās broader effort to streamline and modernize the Windows experience, bringing crash visuals more in line with the minimalist aesthetics of Windows 11.......ā¦continue reading
