Flutterwave Corporate Team Change is part of moves aimed at preparing for IPO

Flutterwave, Africa’s most valuable startup, announced that it has made changes to its corporate team as part of moves aimed at preparing for an initial public offering. Flutterwave CEO, Olugbenga Agboola made this known recently as a Semafor’s World Economy Summit in Washington D.C. on April 18. He described this as part of a broader future agenda.
According to him, the company’s goal is to be IPO-ready, ensuring the right governance is in place and making sure the company is operating smoothly.

Ghana crafts domestic content Laws for telecommunications industry
The government of Ghana has embarked on an initiative to formulate and implement local content regulations specifically for the telecommunications industry, with an aim to bolster reliance on indigenous resources and to give precedence to Ghanaian telecom enterprises. At a notable event held in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, who serves as the Minister for Communications and Digitalization, made the announcement regarding these legislative developments.
Minister Ekuful articulated, “We are currently in the midst of crafting local content legislation tailored to the telecommunications industry. As a part of this initiative, we have mandated that a certain spectrum of managed services within the telecom sector be exclusively earmarked for local companies in Ghana.”...….continue reading

X is launching a TV app for videos ‘soon’
X, the company formerly known as Twitter, is launching a dedicated TV app for videos uploaded to the social network soon. X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced on Tuesday that the new app will bring “real-time, engaging content to your smart TVs.” The app’s interface looks quite similar to YouTube’s, as seen in a teaser video shared by Yaccarino.
The app will feature a trending video algorithm that is designed to help users stay updated with tailored popular content, along with AI-powered topics that will organize videos by subject. The app will also support cross-device viewing, which means you can start watching a video on your phone and then continue watching it on your TV...….continue reading

Beltone Venture Capital collaborates with CI Venture Capital to foster MENA startups with a US$30 million fund
Beltone Venture Capital (BVC), which operates under the Egyptian firm Beltone Holding, has initiated a strategic alliance with CI Venture Capital, a venture arm under Citadel International Holdings from the UAE. Together, they have established a sizable fund specifically targeting early-stage startup growth, amounting to US$30 million.
This fund is dedicated to nurturing and accelerating the development of startups at pre-seed and seed stages, with a particular focus on those exhibiting rapid growth potential.
The collaboration between BVC and CI Venture Capital aims to catalyze the entrepreneurial landscape across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
