Meta Prohibits āInstagram Liveā for Teens Under 16

Itās been in the works, and now it has finally happened. Meta prohibits the āInstagram Liveā feature for teens under 16. In an effort to improve safety for Instagram users under 16, Meta has now prohibited livestreaming and unblurring nudity in direct messages without parental consent.
This follows the social media behemothās statement that it was expanding the protections provided by āTeen Accountsā for users under the age of eighteen on Facebook and Messenger. Amid the mounting criticism of social mediaās impact on the lives of young people, Meta introduced its teen account program in September of last year to provide parents more alternatives for monitoring their kidsā online activity.
Teenagers under the age of sixteen are prohibited from accessing Instagram Live unless their parents grant them permission. This is according to the most recent modifications implemented by Mark Zuckerbergās company. According to Meta, they also require parental consent before they can āturn off our feature that blurs images containing suspected nudityā in direct messaging....ā¦continue reading

Amazonās Kuiper Set to Challenge Starlink with First Major Satellite Launch

Amazon is poised to make a significant leap in the satellite internet arena with the upcoming launch of its Project Kuiper satellites, aiming to establish a robust competitor to SpaceXās Starlink network. This initiative underscores Amazonās commitment to expanding global broadband access and intensifies the competition in the burgeoning field of satellite-based internet services.ā
Scheduled for no earlier than 7 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the Kuiper Atlas 1 (KA-01) mission will deploy 27 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) at an altitude of approximately 280 miles (450 kilometers). This marks the beginning of Amazonās full-scale deployment of its satellite constellation, which aims to comprise over 3,200 satellites designed to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet services globally..
Amazonās entry into the satellite internet market positions it directly against SpaceXās Starlink, which currently operates approximately 7,000 satellites and serves over 4.5 million users across more than 100 countries. While Starlink has a substantial head start, Project Kuiper aims to leverage Amazonās extensive resources and infrastructure to establish a competitive presence.ā......ā¦continue reading

Pascal Dozie, Diamond Bank Founder and Nation-Builder, Passes Away at 85

Pascal Dozie
Pascal Gabriel Dozie, a pioneering Nigerian entrepreneur, economist, and institution builder, has passed away at the age of 85. Best known as the founder of Diamond Bank, Dozieās legacy stretches far beyond banking, touching telecommunications, education, and the broader development of Nigeriaās private sector.
In 1990, at a time when Nigeriaās financial services landscape was still dominated by multinational banks and riddled with inefficiencies, Dozie established Diamond Bank. He started with just N20 million in capital, much of it raised from personal connections and a steadfast belief in the power of financial inclusion.
Pascal Dozieās impact extended significantly into Nigeriaās telecommunications sector, where he served as the founding chairman of MTN Nigeria. At a time when mobile penetration was low and skepticism was high, Dozie helped guide MTNās entry into the market.......ā¦continue reading
