MTN Foundation Unveils N450 Million āYellopreneurā Initiative ā Empowering Women Entrepreneurs
MTN Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of MTN Nigeria, has officially opened applications for the second phase of its impactful āYellopreneurā initiative. This initiative aims to provide N450 million in loans to support female entrepreneurs across Nigeria. The Executive Director of MTN Foundation, Mrs Odunayo Sanya, made the announcement during a press briefing held at the MTN head office in Lagos on Tuesday.
In this phase of the program, MTN Foundation plans to invest a substantial sum of N600 million, with N450 million allocated as loans for 150 selected female entrepreneurs. Each successful applicant will receive N3 million to bolster their businesses. MDaaS Global Secures $3 Million in Pre-Series A Funding to Expand Healthcare Network and Technology Platform
Nigerian health tech startup, MDaaS Global, has successfully raised $3 million in pre-Series A funding, marking a significant milestone in its mission to enhance healthcare services across Nigeria. The round, co-led by Aruwa Capital Management and follow-on investor Newtown Partners, with additional support from Ventures Platform, brings MDaaS Globalās total investment to $6.8 million.
The latest funding injection will be instrumental in further developing MDaaS Globalās proprietary technology platform, BeaconOS, introduced last year. The startup, founded in 2017, operates a network of tech-enabled diagnostic centers throughout Nigeria. French VC firm, Ring Capital, recently announced the establishment of Ring Africa, an impact investment fund targeting French-speaking West African startups. The fund, which will invest in pre-seed to Series A stages, aims to support firms with a pronounced social and environmental agenda.
Ring Africa hopes to raise ā¬50 million to back startups that address Africaās climate change issues, help formalize the regionās economy, and enhance agricultural productivity.
