Market Volatility Exposes Weak Delegation

When markets get shaky, advisors don’t just manage portfolios. They manage fear, questions, follow-up and a flood of client communication.

That’s where weak delegation gets expensive.

If meeting prep, paperwork, CRM updates and account admin still run through you, response times slip and the client experience takes the hit.

BELAY created the free Financial Advisor’s Delegation Guide to help you identify what to hand off, what to keep and how to stay client-facing without losing control.

Inside, you’ll learn how to reduce bottlenecks, protect responsiveness and free up more time for the work only you should be doing.

Ambitious bets on artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and public engagement are shaping today’s innovation landscape across Africa and beyond. In Nigeria, the government has launched UniPods with a bold target of training 500,000 people in AI, signalling a major push to build a future-ready workforce.

At the same time, global tech and space initiatives are expanding access and visibility—Google is rolling out AI-powered inbox features in Gmail to simplify email management, while Kenya plans to livestream its climate camera launch aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. Together, these developments highlight a growing convergence of AI adoption, digital tools, and scientific innovation shaping how people learn, communicate, and interact with technology.

Beyond finance, innovation continues at scale. NASA’s Artemis II mission signals a new era in space exploration after more than five decades, while Ghana’s integration of a digital wallet into its national ID points to the future of identity and payments convergence. Kenya is also simplifying tax compliance with a WhatsApp-based chatbot, bringing government services closer to citizens.

MTN Completes Mobile Money Spinoff in Ghana to Accelerate Fintech Growth

MTN Group has completed the separation of its mobile money business in Ghana, creating a standalone fintech entity, MobileMoney Fintech Ltd (MMFL). The move complies with Ghana’s Payment Systems and Services Act, which requires telecom-led financial services to operate independently.

Beyond regulation, the spinoff reflects MTN’s strategy to position fintech as a key growth engine. The new structure enables the unit to scale, attract investment, and expand services such as payments, lending, and digital finance.

Ghana remains one of MTN’s strongest markets, generating over $549 million in fintech revenue in 2025. The separation also supports potential investment from Mastercard, which could value the fintech unit at over $5 billion, reinforcing MTN’s shift into digital financial services..........….continue reading

Gmail Rolls Out AI Inbox with Smart Summaries

Google has introduced an AI-powered inbox for Gmail, designed to help users manage large volumes of emails through summaries, prioritization, and smart organization.

Powered by Gemini, the AI Inbox highlights urgent messages (like bills and meetings), summarizes long email threads, and groups less important emails for later. It also upgrades search by allowing users to ask natural-language questions and get direct answers from their inbox.

Additional features include AI-assisted writing, improved Smart Replies, and advanced tools for premium users that can analyze entire inbox histories for deeper insights.

Currently in limited beta for paid plans, the feature reflects a broader shift toward AI-driven productivity tools—transforming email from a passive communication tool into an intelligent assistant, while raising new considerations around control and reliability.......….continue reading

NASA Launches Artemis II Moon Mission After 53 Years

NASA has launched the Artemis II mission, sending four astronauts on a 10-day journey around the Moon—the first crewed deep-space mission since the Apollo program ended in 1972.

The crew—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen—marks several historic firsts, including the first woman and first Black astronaut to travel to the Moon’s vicinity, and the first Canadian beyond low Earth orbit.

The mission serves as a critical test flight, validating the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System ahead of a planned lunar landing in Artemis III.....….continue reading

👤IDENTITY MANAGEMENT

Ghana Adds Digital Wallet to National ID

National Identification Authority has integrated a digital wallet into the Ghana Card, turning it into a multifunctional tool for both identity and payments. Users can activate the wallet via the MyCitizens app or USSD, enabling services like ATM withdrawals, online and in-store payments, and international transactions.

The move aims to boost financial inclusion by giving underserved populations easier access to financial services without relying on traditional banking systems. It also introduces an identity-led payments model, allowing interoperability with multiple financial institutions rather than being tied to a single bank.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to position the Ghana Card as a “three-in-one” platform—combining identity, travel functionality, and payments. While it could accelerate digital transactions and reduce economic informality, challenges remain around security, adoption, and competition with existing systems.....….continue reading

The tool simplifies tax filing by removing the need for web portals or additional apps, using a conversational interface with pre-filled data and guided prompts. Users can securely log in with their National ID, KRA PIN, and OTP verification.

This initiative is part of a broader mobile-first strategy to improve tax compliance by meeting users on widely used platforms like WhatsApp. At the same time, KRA is strengthening enforcement through advanced monitoring systems to detect fraud and track compliance......….continue reading
