Shaping Africa’s Digital Future: Vodacom Empowers 1 Million Youth with Tech Skills
Vodacom Group has launched an ambitious initiative to bridge the digital skills gap in Africa. Through partnerships with technology giants such as AWS, Microsoft, and Skillsoft, Vodacom aims to empower young people across eight African countries with critical digital competencies. The Vodacom Digital Skills Hub is designed to train 1 million youth by 2027, contributing to a future-ready, inclusive digital economy.
The Digital Skills Hub operates in South Africa, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Lesotho, Egypt, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Kenya. Leveraging existing e-learning platforms such as Talimy in Egypt, VodaEduc in the DRC, and e-Fahamu in Tanzania, the initiative ensures that even underserved and remote areas can access high-quality educational resources. Starlink suspends new orders across Nigeria until NCC approves price increment
Elon Musk’s Starlink has suspended orders for its residential kits across Nigeria with a note that the suspension would be lifted after securing approval from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for its recently announced price increment.
The company, however, allows orders for its high-end Business Plan, in which it is allowed to charge N159,000 for a monthly subscription compared with the Residential Plan which costs N38,000 per month.....……continue reading
